Shopify leads, but it is not the whole story

Shopify is the single biggest platform at 37%, and it deserves the reputation. But 37% also means nearly two in three new sites launch somewhere else. A prospecting tool that only tracks Shopify is blind to 63% of the market, and that blind spot is where a lot of winnable clients hide.

WooCommerce is the quiet giant

At 23%, WooCommerce is almost a quarter of everything new. It is especially strong outside the United States and among owners who already had a WordPress site and simply added a store. These businesses rarely show up in Shopify only tools, which makes them less contested and often easier to reach.

One in six runs on no platform at all

Sixteen percent of new sites are custom builds with no off the shelf platform behind them. These tend to be the higher budget projects, the ones with a developer already involved. They are a different kind of lead, and knowing that before you reach out changes the whole conversation.

Why this matters for finding leads

If your tool is Shopify only, you are fishing in one third of the pond. FisherLeads tracks more than 30 platforms, and it keeps services businesses that run on none of them, because the platform is metadata, not the point. The point is a real, new business you can be the first to reach. The platform just tells you which conversation to walk in with.
